When you are managing inventory or production there maybe times where you need to test the quality of a product. This could range from a simple inspection to an advanced sequence of test through a laboratory process. It really depends on the products and processes.

AX has a quality module that allows tests to be setup and then capture some feedback from the inspection or test. Sometimes you just need a mechanism setup in the business system to indicate or record a test was done but the actual test is done and record in an external system especially when there are complex labs. The good thing is the process control that you can use the quality module for in AX.

To use quality association that trigger a quality test you will need to setup a test group.
